1. Purposes of practicum

    I joined the SEA Teacher project because I want to improve my English skill. I want to have experience of teaching abroad. I want to know how to manage the classroom, which contents with diverse learners, learn instructional styles and develop my classroom management. Moreover, that is a good way of meeting new friend and learn different cultures. Thank you, this Project for opportunities to have good experiences and practice my teaching pedagogies for me to improve professionally.

 

2. Procedures of practicum

    - In the First week, I observed the class of Grade 8 about Arithmetic and geometric sequence, prepared lesson plan two topics for teaching.  and prepare worksheet, game, materials for teach them. 

    - In the second week, I taught instead of a mentor around 6 hours this topic about cartesian coordinate for students grade 8H 8E and 8G.

    - In the last week, I continue to teach students grade 8 in this topic line in cartesian coordinate around 6 hours, and evaluation with my mentor and cooperating teacher.

 

3. Outcomes of practicum

         This practicum served as important step stone to holistically develop the teacher for me. This experience will help me in management with the problem. I can manage everything to be good. It's a good thing and helps me to face the reality of being a teacher. Because in the future, my career is learning to be a teacher.

It made me realize that despite of the differences culture, race or religion. The teacher will always be a teacher. This practicum strengthens my passion to teach and help the students to have the foundation of education that they need.      

        I gained confidence in speaking the English language and in communicating with other people using the language. It helps me to learn, realize and appreciate the beauty of teaching and helps me to grow more in this field with the help of my student and my mentor.

 

4. The challenges of practicum

          The challenges of this practicum was the first time I have taught mathematics in English. I was very excited and nervous about how to teach students and make it easy to understand in my lesson because In Thailand, I study mathematics with Thai language and always uses Thai language to teach my students in school and I can’t speak, writ and listen in Indonesia language. I hope my students will understand the lessons and get my point, so I always improve my English skill. Even if we have different accents, but good to learn together.

 

5. Overall impression

          Participation in this project gained me many experiences and made me develop many things. Thank all students for intend to study and cooperation in every activity. Thank you to my mentor for your help me with many things about teaching and how to find materials. I will not forget these good memories forever.

 

6. Suggestions for future improvement

          I would like to recommend in suggestions for future improvement are

                   The First, you should prepare yourself such as improve your English skill, It is very important to communication. The lesson plan, you must to know how to write lesson plan and how to estimate students, method to write objectives of learning.

                   Second, you should believe in yourself, you can do everything when you want to do. Importantly, don’t be afraid to make something which mistakes. You should learn and improve yourself. Open your mind to learn new things It will allow you to learn a lot of things that you have never experienced.

                   finally, I want to say thank you Sea Teacher Project for gained me many experiences. When you want to gain a lot of experiences like me you should to join this project.
